Celebrating 100 years of service excellence

Mr Wicht practiced at Wicht and Marairs until his death in the late 1960’s, whereafter Mr Marais had to take over the reins.  During this time, he credits the survival of the practice to the immense loyalty and support of this staff members, who were willing to stand by him during a very turbulent transition. 

After the death of Mr Marais, the practice was then continued by Mr Pierre Langenhoven.  Mr Langenhoven was until then an attorney at the State attorney’s office but was eager to take on the challenge of private practice.

With his subsequent partner Mr Jan van Rensburg, he moved the firm from strength to strength, growing the commercial practice areas of the firm and establishing it as one of the most respected firms in the region.

In 1987 Wicht and Marias was incorporated as a private company, “Wicht and Marais Ingelyf”.

Mr Langenhoven was joined by a number of partners and attorneys, who then went on to go and establish their own firms, including Mr Jan van Rensburg, Mr Jan Moller, and the firms’ first female attorney and director, Mrs Ammarentia Pienaar.

In 1996, Mr Johann Pistorius joined the firm, first as a candidate attorney and then thereafter as associate and finally as a director.

The firm’s other directors, Ms Ilse Hattingh and Mr Kenny Modihapula also joined the company initially as candidate attorneys and were later appointed as associates and directors.

In 2014 the company expanded their services by opening a satellite office in Hartbeespoort under the management of Mrs Annaschka Human.

After going through a number of name changes through the years, the firm finally adopted the name LANGENHOVEN PISTORIUS MODIHAPULA ATTORNEYS in 2018.

From there, we’ve grown and gone from strength to strength which was only possible due to the support and loyalty of our clients and staff.
